Mosaic: a dance, visual arts residency in Benzie County schools

Mosaic: Year Seven

The Oliver Art Center will be presenting our seventh annual Mosaic: an extensive dance and visual arts residency in all Benzie County Schools. The project will culminate with a final performance at the Benzie Central Auditorium, March 20, 2012. The project takes the students’ curriculum and explores the subjects through dance movement and visual arts projects. This year the students will take inspiration from artwork and themes from local artist Gwen Frostic’s book My Michigan. This project is our way of exposing the youth of Benzie County to the art they might not be able to experience on their own.

Open Studio (Year Round)

Those who enjoy painting, drawing, carving, printmaking, fiber art, or any other art activity can bring their work and join us from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each Wednesday year-round. Share ideas and inspiration and enjoy the camaraderie at lunchtime. Regular attendees are encouraged to become Art Center members. Donations are accepted toward building use.
