Special guest Lenore Crawford lecturer/trunk show.
Lenore is a quilt artist from Midland, Michigan who most recently won best of show
at AQS Nashville with her “Pont En Royans” quilt. She is best known for her enhanced
watercolor quilts and now uses fusible appliqué and painting techniques in

8th Annual Benzie County Student Art Show
The Crystal Lake Art Center will present the eighth
annual Countywide Student Art Show beginning Friday, May 2 with an opening reception
from 6 to 8 p.m. Awards will be presented at 7:45 p.m. The show will feature work
from students in Benzie County schools, elementary to high school.
The show also will be open for public viewing Saturday, May 3, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.,
as well as Monday through Thursday, May 5 through 8, 10 to 6 p.m.
Corey Bechler, Benzie Central Middle School art teacher and Crystal Lake Art Center
board vice president, is chairing the show.
A Best of Show for 2-Dimensional work, Best of Show for 3-Dimensional work and other
ribbons will be awarded. All elementary students will receive “Participant” ribbons.
All schools in the county have been invited to participate.
New this year will be a Free Family Art Day where kids and parents can come create
a variety of hands-on arts and craft projects. This special day will be Saturday,
May 3, 10 a.m-1 p.m.
The Crystal Lake Art Center is committed to emphasizing the importance of the arts
in the school curriculum and as enrichment activities. This exhibit is sponsored
by the Crystal Lake Art Center and is supported by the Benzie County Community Chest.

Limited to 2 pieces of original artwork not previously shown at the Art Center. Bring
one extra piece if you‚d like to have it considered for an off-site show.
2- and 3-dimensional work is welcome. Paintings must be framed, wired, and ready
to hang. Sawtooth hangers do not work. Identify each work on the back with the artist's
name, title of work, medium, and price.
CLAC receives a 30% commission from the selling price of each piece. The Art Center
will add and process all sales tax.
